Kirin McCrory is a playwright, dramaturg, literary manager, and professor. She graduated summa cum laude from Emerson College with a BA in Theatre and English, with particular emphases in playwriting and fight choreography, and Shakespeare and violence, respectively. She received her MFA in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts at UC Riverside, with an emphasis in playwriting. Her writing focuses on challenging mediums and increasing the representation of women through stage and screen roles that demolish stereotypes and enrich the portrait of femininity. Her plays and devised works have received awards and productions across the US in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and more, and internationally. Her textual work with performance collective The American Laboratory has appeared in galleries in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. She is currently the literary manager for VanguardRep, a theatre company devoted to nurturing new works and adaptations. In 2017, she helped found The Windmill Arts Center, a new arts space in East Point, GA which she co-manages and co-programs.
